Bus Shelter Maintenance Programs | BusShelters.ca

Monthly cleaning, quarterly inspection, annual hardware torque — Canada-wide.

Bus shelter maintenance contracts

Most transit authorities and municipalities run annual maintenance contracts on their shelter networks: panel cleaning, anti-graffiti refresh, lamp replacement, hardware tightening, bench powder-coat touch-up, and structural inspection. BusShelters.ca offers tiered maintenance contracts at $300–$600 per shelter per year for standard inventory, $700–$1,400 per shelter per year for advertising shelters and high-traffic mall properties, and $1,800–$3,500 per shelter per year for airport-grade 24/7 SLA contracts.

Stocking-package programmes

For large fleets (50+ shelters), a stocking-package programme holds buffer inventory in our Brantford warehouse under dedicated SKUs: replacement glass, polycarbonate panels, bench slats, end caps, route-map holders, schedule clips, lamp drivers, anti-graffiti film rolls, and gasket kits. When your maintenance ticket fires, the part ships within 24 hours via dedicated freight. Stocking commitments range from 50 panels per year (small municipality) to 500+ panels per year (TTC, STM, TransLink scale).

Anti-graffiti and vandalism response

Graffiti treatment depends on incident frequency. Sacrificial film (clear polymer sheet, swappable in under 4 minutes) is right for high-vandalism corridors where panels are tagged weekly — replacement film costs $30–$60 per panel versus $200–$400 to refurbish a permanently-coated panel. Permanent fluoropolymer coating is right for low-vandalism sites where the once-a-year clean-down justifies the initial uplift. For glass breakage, 8–10 mm polycarbonate survives baseball-bat-grade impact and is the default spec on school and campus deployments.

Emergency response

For safety-critical breakage (jagged glass at a transit stop, structural damage from vehicle impact), we ship same-day from Brantford on dedicated courier — $280 freight uplift, available Monday–Friday 8am–5pm Eastern. For 24/7 emergency response (airport, hospital, major teaching hospital sites), tier-1 SLA contracts cover after-hours and weekend response with a 8-hour parts-on-site commitment.

Next steps

For written pricing, an RFP response, or a project-scoping call, contact our bid desk at bids@busshelters.ca or (888) 663-2244. We respond to standard quote requests within one business day and to municipal RFPs within 5 working days. For projects at the design or specification stage, our project-engineering team can run a no-cost site-suitability review covering snow load, wind load, footing depth, accessibility code, electrical proximity, and budget envelope — useful before the procurement file gets locked. Reference sites in your region are available on request, and the Brantford showroom is open Monday through Friday for in-person product walk-throughs.
